Limited Repairs to the Plaza Arts Center

The City of Eatonton requests interested bidders to provide bids for “Limited Repairs to the Plaza Arts Center”.  Scope of work to include but not be limited to the following:

  • Repair of the roof structure over the auditorium
  • Addition of piers and replacement of floor beams to repair damaged floor area

Sealed Bids from prequalified bidders, will be received by the City of Eatonton (the “Owner”) at Eatonton City Hall located at 201 North Jefferson Avenue, Eatonton, GA 31024, until 11:00 am local time on February 4, 2019 for all labor, materials and services necessary for the Limited Repairs to the Plaza Arts Center (“the Project”). Bids will be opened promptly at 11:00 am. Notice of Award by email, is anticipated on or before February 20, 2019.

Bidding Documents

A.  Bidding documents must be obtained by prequalified bidders from:

Oconee Engineering, LLC, P.O. Box 116 Greensboro, GA 30642, phone (770) 313-0302, e-mail (admin@oconeeengineering.com) by submission to the Engineer in writing or by e-mail. Submissions for documents should include the project name, the bidder’s name, address, phone number and contact person, together with payment of a non-refundable deposit of $150 per printed set of drawings and specifications. Document fees shall be waived for electronic copies of drawings and specifications. Checks should be made payable to the Engineer. Printed sets of bidding documents shall be picked up from the Engineer, or, if requested, will be forwarded, shipping charges collect to the requestor.

B.  The contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis by base bid. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after bid opening, except as otherwise expressly provided by applicable law.

C.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.

D.  Any person or entity that failed to become prequalified to submit a bid on the project shall not be permitted to submit a bid and any bid submitted by any person or entity that is not prequalified shall be returned unopened.

E.  Contact City of Eatonton Owners Representative (Oconee Engineering, LLC) for approval to become prequalified.

Minimum requirements:

  1. Contractor must demonstrate related and pertinent experience for construction in terms of scope and dollar value of previous contracts.
  2. Contractor must demonstrate a history of successful performance and completion of projects in a timely manner, subject to the usual contractual time adjustments.
  3. Contractor must have a valid Georgia contractor’s license along with worker’s compensation insurance and General Liability and Commercial Auto policies with coverages as outlined in the contract documents.
  4. Contractor must demonstrate sufficient available experienced personnel to perform construction activities. Both management and labor work force should be addressed.
  5. Contractor must provide references. Names and addresses of persons for whom the firm has performed related type work within the last three (3) years.

Pre-Bid Conference

A pre-bid conference will be held at the Plaza Arts Center, 305 North Madison Avenue, Eatonton, on Friday, January 18th at 10:00 am. Representatives of the owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the project. Access to the project areas will be provided at this time. Bidders are encouraged to participate this conference.
