Georgia vehicle tags must be purchased within 30 days of establishing residency in Eatonton. You may obtain tags at the Putnam County Tax Commissioner’s office in the Putnam County Courthouse, located at 100 South Jefferson Avenue, Suite 207.

Charter Communications (888-438-2427), located at 71 W Highway 22 in Milledgeville, provides cable television service in the City.

New residents must change their driver’s licenses within 30 days of relocating to Eatonton. Licenses are issued by the Georgia Department of Drivers Services (DDS).  Area DDS offices are located in Greensboro (706-454-2527), at 1180 C Weldon Smith Drive, Suite 108, and in Milledgeville (478-453-4717), at 200 Carl Vinson Road.

The Eatonton-Putnam Senior Services program serves as a focal point for social, cultural, and educational programs for residents 60 years of age and older.  The goal is to help seniors remain both active and independent while enhancing their quality of life.

Home Delivered Meals (for homebound residents) and Daily Center Activities including:

  • Exercise Classes – Low Impact Aerobics and Yoga
  • Line Dance Classes
  • Bingo
  • Crafts

  • Field Trips
  • Weekly Inspiration Hour

Electric service within the City is provided by Georgia Power (888-660-5890), located at 203 South Oak Street.  Some areas of the City are served by Tri-County EMC (866-254-8100), located at 112 Recreation Road near the Sheriff’s Office and the recreation center.

Natural gas service is provided by the City to its residents.  More information about this service, including rates and fees, may be obtained by calling 706-485-3311 or by visiting City Hall.

Telephone service is provided by AT&T. Please contact them at 888-757-6500 for residential service or 866-620-6000 for business service.

Trash service is provided throughout the City at a cost of $11.00 per month per cart for residential customers.  The City contracts for this service with Advanced Disposal.  Yard debris and bulk items are picked up by City crews.  Such items must be separated  and an oversized load fee may apply to large loads of such materials.  The City does not pick up roofing materials or construction or demolition debris.
