Eatonton’s library is operated by the Uncle Remus Library  system. It is located in the Historic District at 309 North     Madison Avenue. The telephone number is 706-485-6768. For Dial-a-Story call 706-485-5896.  When expanded a few years back, its original Carnegie Library building was kept intact including the wooden floors and fireplace. Local artists have painted a giant mural of scenes from some of the Uncle Remus  stories.

Recently, the Library received a grant from the Atlanta Community Foundation.  The grant has been used to enhance the children's reading and story programs and increase the inventory of children's books.
