ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed proposals will be received by The City of Eatonton located at Eatonton City Hall, 201 North Jefferson St, Eatonton, Georgia 31024 on October 27, 2016 until 2:00 p.m. local time for the construction of SR 24 to SR 16 to N. of E. Harris/Willie Bailey St.

The work to be performed consists of furnishing all labor and materials to complete the SR 24 to SR 16 to N. of E. Harris/Willie Bailey. More specifically, the project will consist of demolition, of existing sidewalk, curb and gutter, and some drainage inlets along the route.
Installation of Type 3 curb and gutter, and sidewalk to include decorative Brick Paver Border, plus other associated improvements.

Plans, Specifications, and Contract documents are open to public inspection at Eatonton City Hall, 201 North Jefferson St, Eatonton, Georgia 31024, Construction Market Data Group, and P.C. Simonton and Associates, Inc., 1050 Parkside Commons, Suite 101, Greensboro, Georgia 30642. Copies of the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents may be obtained by contacting P.C. Simonton and Associates, Inc., 1050 Parkside Commons, Suite 101, Greensboro, Georgia 30642 (706) 454-0870 and by depositing a non-refundable One Hundred & Fifty Dollars ($150.00) for each set of plans requested.

The GDOT Standard Specifications Construction of Transportation Systems, 2013 Edition, Supplemental Specifications Book, 2013 Edition, and applicable special provisions and supplemental specifications apply to this contract.

The DBE goal for P.I. Number 0011702 is 11%.

The City Of Eatonton in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d-42 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, part 21, Nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of total amount bid for the completed work.

The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. If the Contract is awarded, it will be awarded to the lowest reliable bidder whose proposal shall have met all the prescribed requirements.

No bids may be withdrawn for a period of One-Hundred & Twenty (120) days after the closing time schedule for receipt of bids.

NOTE: Plans and Specifications must be obtained no later than five (5) working days before the bid date. No exceptions.
